A clinical neurophysiologist is a non-physician with an advanced degree (Ph.D., Au.D.) who specializes in established clinical electrophysiological procedures for the objective analysis and intraoperative monitoring of the peripheral and central nervous system. Neurophysiologists provide interpretations of electrophysiological data as supporting evidence for the diagnosis of nervous system disease and/or monitoring systems during high-risk surgeries employing all manner of evoked potentials (sensory and motor), nerve conduction studies, electromyography, and EEG.
